Wally Hayward (lets do it again)

Hey all cancer runner supporters. So it has been one whole year since I started my blog and I am very proud of the work we have done thus far. It feels amazing being able to use my talents to the fullest and even more so doing it to raise money and help those that are less fortunate and need our suppport. So thank you to you all.

So here we go again. This is the second time I will be running the Wally Hayward race to raise money for cancer on the 1st of May 2014. For those that are first time supporters, please read the very first post to find out how the donations work.

Here is a link as well: http://cancerrunners.blogspot.com/2013/04/lets-run-towards-our-goal.html

A little history. The Wally Hayward race is named after Wallace Henry Hayward. Wallace ("Wally") Henry Hayward (10 July 1908 – 28 April 2006) was a South African endurance athlete with a 60 year career. He has won the Comrades Marathon five times and completed the distance of around 90 km the last time just before his eighty-first birthday.

So I will be doing the 21 km and will appreciate your support. I look forward to running and all your support.

Please let me know on wednesday at 8 pm if you are going to support and how much you will be donating per km.

And remember...keep on running.

SunnyPark Right to Run (21st March 2014)

So it's time to take on the urban jungle.

This time I will be running in Sunnypark, in the heart of Pretoria, CBD. I have never before ran this race and I am very excited to experience this exciting race. The race is run through the heart of Sunnyside and is a circular, easy, fast, flat and a scenic route.

So come on everyone, give your support and lets make a difference. I will be running the 21 km. If you feel really up to it, come and take a walk on the wild side...of Pretoria that is, and come and join me for a walk. If that is maybe too much to ask, then show your support to the CHOC cancer fund. I am very sure that these kids will appreciate every Rand donated.

Have a look at the very first blog to see how sponsoring works. Please let me know by Thursday if you would like to sponsor the race.

And remember, keep on running...

Zoo Trot (12 January 2014)

So it is the new year, and with it there is always new years resolutions. Well here is one we can share...once again I will run and you will pay. (For some reasons you guys get the easier part in all of this.)

Anyway, I have decided that I will compete in the Bedfordview Dis-Chem race on Sunday, the 12th of January. So come on guys show your support by sponsoring me in this awesome event. I will be doing the half-marathon, thus 21 km. (Please go look at the 1st post for more details)

Update:

I everyone just a quick update. Unfortunately there is no more place for registrations in the dischem race, but that wont stop me from runnung. So I will compete in the Zoo trot, a very nice race being held at the joburg zoo. Please note that this race is only a 10km.

Thanks again for your support guys,

And remember,

Keep on running.

Results:

So here are the results. Must say it is really an awesome race to run. I really enjoyed it and definitely a well recommended one even for people that aren't runners... The fee is R43 rand and you get to enter the zoo and do the run/ walk and stay as long as you like. So even if you aren't a runner, take your kids and go do the zoo trot/ walk every second Sunday at zoo. Very scenic and worth seeing the animals.

Anyway, here are my results.

Will all sponsors please pay the amount they sponsored into the CHOC account and send the proof to me. Once again thank you for your amazing support.

Amount Raised:

R 250.00
